birthday madness

as we were all wandering the neighborhood, we came across this poor young man who was taped to a telephone pole. it turns out it was his birthday too and instead of taking him out for a nice dinner and to the noraebang, his friends fastened him to a pole for public abuse and humiliation! he was wearing a sign that said, "for 1000 won you can punch me in the gut!" (or something like that)
we ended up singing "happy birthday" to him in english and buying him a beer, which barb and chris poured partly down his throat and partly over his head. poor guy! he probably won't remember any of this tomorrow.
